For example I find that Reverb Nation has more fans in hip hop and dance, yet it's still a good place for all indie artists, especially the tools. I also recommend a brand new tool called "Who's Talkin", http://www.whostalkin.com/. It's a social media search tool. I was able to find a ton of discussions and references to the musicians I work with. Great site you started here.
